As I have mentioned in the past, I love cooking. Several years ago, my wife worked for a lady that made us Spicy Pretzels for the holidays. I fell in love with these pretzels immediately. It is super easy to make and more importantly, affordable. My wife makes these all the time, even though I generally get all the credit at work. My co-workers call them Edwardo’s Famous Pretzels. The wife just loves that I get all the credit for them and why should I be the bad guy who corrects everyone. I guess the real credit should go to the lady that originally made them for us. Regardless of who gets the credit, I believe anyone who makes them will instantly enjoy them. Below is the recipe:
1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 package dry Ranch-style dressing mix
3/4 cup of canola oil ( I personally do not like it with vegetable oil)
Place pretzels in a large, sealable plastic bag. Pour in canola oil, ground cayenne pepper, garlic salt and Ranch-style dressing mix (some mix the oil and seasoning in a separate bowl and then pour it on the pretzels). Shake well. Allow pretzels to marinate in the mixture approximately 3 to 4 hours before serving. Shake occasionally to maintain coating. I would suggest putting the pretzels in a new plastic bag once it is fully marinated .
I think we can agree that this snack is really easy to make and the price is generally under $15 dollars. Chances are you already have some of these items in your kitchen. I have a feeling once you make this for the holidays, the entire family will love them. My boss at work wants me to make them all the time. I call these pretzels job security, but it might be in jeopardy now that the recipe is out there for her to see.
Is this something you might try making for the holidays? Let me know what you think of them.
