Stocks On My Radar For September

I have always enjoyed finding individual stocks to buy. I love doing the homework and trying to find the best quality stocks out there.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I strongly feel a person should invest in index funds as well. Remember, diversification is your only free lunch. So, what stocks are on my radar for September? I am looking at adding to my position in AT&T and Philip Morris International.

I have always liked AT&T. It is a strong defensive stock that pays a solid dividend. Right now it is yielding over 6% and is in the low 30s. The stock has been slowly increasing, but I think it is still at buying levels. I strongly feel everyone should hold a position in this company.  I will probably add to my position this month.

Philip Morris International is one of the largest tobacco companies in the world and even though the industry has been doing poorly for the past year, I still feel like it is a buying opportunity. I know that there are individuals who will not invest in morally questionable companies, but the name of the game is to make money. When it comes to investing, I leave morality at the door. Remember, greed is good!

Right now,  that is the only two stocks that I am interested in pursuing this month. I might add to my Roth IRA, but the two stocks mentioned above are the only ones that I am interested on an individual basis. I am sure there are many stocks out there are good buys. What stocks are on your radar?
